PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected when you use the websites located at: app.usetypely.com, usetypely.com (the "Website"), the Chrome browser extension, the services and products provided through them (together with the Website, the "Service"), how such personal data will be processed.
Chrome Extension – Data Practices Summary
This section specifically addresses data practices for the Typely Chrome Extension (Extension ID: ojlmoiiefdbjbaimcjamodhohfidgkog).
Data collected by the extension:
- Text you submit for AI writing assistance, grammar checking, or humanizing (User Content)
- Your account authentication token (to identify your session)
- Basic device and browser metadata (browser type, language, extension version)
How it is used:
- User Content is sent to AI service providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, DeepSeek, Google Gemini) solely to generate and return AI-powered writing suggestions to you
- Authentication tokens are used to verify your subscription and sync usage across devices
- We do not use your text content to train AI models, and we do not read, store, or share your browser history or page content beyond what you explicitly submit
How it is stored:
- User Content submitted via the extension is transiently processed and is not permanently stored on our servers beyond what is needed to complete your request
- Account and billing data is stored on our servers and with Stripe (payment processor) for the retention periods described in Section 11
- All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
Who it is shared with:
- AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, DeepSeek, Google) receive your submitted text to return AI outputs — they process it under their own data processing agreements and do not retain it for training without consent
- Stripe receives payment and billing information
- No User Content is sold to or shared with advertisers
